Eating Healthy: Easy Green Smoothie Recipe

As I shared in one of my recent blog posts (here), I've been trying really hard to eat healthy this summer! I've cut a lot of unhealthy foods from my diet and have (for the most part) ditched anything processed or made with white flours. In doing this I've discovered many great healthy options and one of those is this super delicious green smoothie.

I'm a sucker for a good smoothie and for the last few years have been totally addicted to making them. Lately, this green guy has been my go-to!

Here's what you need:
- Dole fruit and veggie blends (or buy the ingredients separately: mango, banana, apple, pineapple, spinach)
-Spinach and/or kale
-Vanilla or plain greek yogurt
-Milk of choice

Here's what you do:
I literally never measure anything out for smoothies so it's all about eyeballing it! I usually do a large handful of the Dole fruit and veggie blends. This is such a great product for making smoothies because it's filled with mango, banana, apple, pineapple, and spinach. So instead of buying each product separately, I can get it all in one bag! You can find this in the freezer section of most grocery stores.

The Dole blends already has frozen spinach in it but I like to add a little extra greens to make it even more healthy. I'm not big on vegetables so this smoothie is one of the ways I incorporate them into my diet. I usually add a small handful of spinach or a spinach/kale mix.

Next, I add two spoonfuls of vanilla greek yogurt to help thicken the texture and to sweeten it a little. You can also go for a plain greek yogurt if you don't want it to be quite as sweet!

For liquid I go with milk! You can use any milk of your choosing (almond, coconut, 2%, etc.). I usually go for 2% but some days I'll do half milk, half water if I want to cut back on the milk. Just use enough milk to barely cover the ingredients (a little more or less depending on your desired thickness).

Finally, blend it all together! I use the Magic Bullet and love it! I highly recommend it for making smoothies.

I love having this healthy green smoothie for breakfast or for an afternoon snack! SO delicious. What are your go-to healthy snacks?! Try this recipe out and let me know what you think! As always, thanks for reading.

Xo, Emma
